Hôtel La Citadelle Metz - Mgallery

A great modern hotel in a historical location Liked · First time staying at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and reception had us checked in quickly. The room was large and well furnished with a great view out onto a wooded area, while the bathroom had a tub with shower and good quality toiletries. The hotel is in a quiet location but a 2 minute walk takes you to the town square, river and green park. Breakfast was of good quality and there was a good selection. The hotel is located in a historical building that has been very carefully renovated and updated to meet the needs of 21st century travellers. Very pleased and will be staying here again.

Our stay in Metz was pleasant - both Citadel and their friendly staff were charming. The room was nice, and the bed very good. Also, we liked the ability to open the windows when the AC was not responsive. During brief periods in the room, there were 40-ish TV channels which offered only French language. The bathroom was well-sized, and offered a high tub which leaked water onto the floor when showering, and which would only be complete with a fall protection plan. If we returned, we would likely not pay 50€ for the quaint breakfast for two, but likely would head to the city center. And last, parking cost seemed excessive as many of the outdoor spaces were shared with a tree. All in all was a good stay, but not great . . . And not sure if Metz will be in our travel plans again in the near future.
